I agree with this so much! I’m barely 20 years old, and have a pretty sweet pick of radio jobs EVEN THOUGH I’m an idiot and stupidly burnt bridges because of my immaturity and selfishness.

I continually hear about how a talent shortage exists in radio, among so many other media industries – ready for my words of wisdom – here’s why! Because nobody wants to work for it anymore! So many kid wanna be Hamish and Andy, wanna be Andrew G, wanna be Rove, wanna be Kyle Sandi….okay maybe not, but NONE of them are prepared to work the hardest they’ve ever worked, and not expect payment. None of them are prepared to work at a crappy community, or country radio station.

For goodness sakes, most of the kids I speak to aren’t even prepared to fire off an email to a local community station, at age 15, and ask for a gig – come on! Your own radio show at age 15? No pay, but man, the experience is worth SO MUCH!

I know kids getting an arts or journalism degree who WOULD KILL to work in a radio newsroom, or on normal radio, but are skeptical when I tell them to fire an email to their fav stations PD or GM and ask if they can come hang out at the radio station.

Nah… 500grams lighter, faster HD ( and prettier). Plus it’s technically illegal to install leopard on a PC. The mac is also made better, and is better (not good, but better) on the environment (if you care).
